This vacation home’s cluttered garage was reinvented as a rustic industrial game room. Garage doors were removed and replaced with glass paneled hinged doors for added light, while keeping the frame opening in place to allow re-conversion to a garage if needed later. The existing concrete floor was polished and stained, reclaimed and locally-sourced hardwood was used for paneled wainscoting, and economical faux-tin ceiling tiles served to mask exposed conduits in the ceiling. Salvaged factory lighting, a mid-century stereo cabinet/bar and seating, and faded antique rugs provided a laid-back, retro setting for relaxed entertaining.
